As a senior leader, you will play a crucial role as Vice President – Architecture reporting to the Chief Technology Officer in enabling the group wide digital transformation by driving the enterprise information, technology – aligning disparate subsidiaries, inspiring innovation and efficiencies, and helping to transform digitally the Technology capability into a strategic engine of the group. You will establish, lead, and grow modern digital, information & technology architecture and service offerings based around a simple mandate: make the overall digital and technology estate of Dubai Holding and its subsidiaries a continuously refreshed, scalable, flexible and secure estate. You will deliver the information, technology architectural strategy & roadmap across the group including all its vertical businesses.

 

  • Key Accountabilities:

Leadership:

  • Interact with executive level business leaders to align DH Architecture strategy and roadmap with business strategies - collaborating with cross functional business and technology teams, driving consensus, and forging new paths as the technical landscape evolves.

  • Direct development of enterprise-wide architecture processes, guide technology directions, and set appropriate strategies, policies, standards and practices to govern the IT landscape of the group

  • Enable transformation of technology in the Group through introduction of new technologies or retirement of obsolete technologies.

  • Provide architectural guidance to multiple agile teams and across a complex digital product portfolio, and collaborate with relevant IT peers to help drive the transition of the group to cloud

  • Represent our technical strategy and architecture with existing and prospective customers (typically CIOs and Heads of IT)

  • Implement and lead business enhancing innovation and technology changes throughout the organization, enabling new digital channels and customer experiences

  • Lead Information, Digital, Technology Architecture competencies across the group and develop the required capabilities centrally and across verticals

  • Co-lead transformation of IT delivery models across the group towards Agile and Continuous delivery - act as an agent of change in taking a new approach to Enterprise Architecture to better align with Agile practices.

 

Strategy:

  • Focused execution of Dubai Holding’s enterprise architecture strategy across all verticals

  • Provide strategic thinking, solutions and roadmaps while driving architectural recommendations.

  • Champions and integrate initiatives into effective and seamless life cycles

  • Develop monitor and control group wide annual IT operating and capital budgets

 

Thought Leadership:

  • Exercise creativity, independent judgment and business acumen in selecting architectural and design methods and techniques to design non-routine and very complex business solutions to meet customer needs.

  • Provide evaluation of, guidance to, and mentorship for solution architects and developers across the enterprise.

  • Constantly develop knowledge of current and emerging technologies. Identify new and emerging solutions, assesses their relevance and potential value to the organization and present recommendations to peers and leadership.

  • Identify disruptive trends early and work with Business leaders on incorporating and mitigating them into company operations and innovation. Serve as an enabler for innovative solutions and foresee trends in technology

  • Develop and enable process improvements champion standards and operational health

 

Talent Development:

  • Champion a modern EA operating model to empower a high impact team of Technology experts and a network of Architects to deliver reference architectures, standards, tools, artifacts, and results.

  • Leverage existing talent across the organization who have expertise in architecture, design and build communities of talent.

  • Build technology architecture, design and technical talent across the group through successful talent attraction and succession planning working closely with vertical CEOs and Business Technology Heads

  • Support and foster digital talent development and innovation across the group by setting up innovation forums, digital labs, and creating overall digitally immersive experiences

 

Work Experience:

  • Experience as a Chief Architect / CIO / CTO or equivalent position in a global environment.

  • Strong Enterprise Architecture domain knowledge with experience in developing, implementing and maintaining architecture across complex platforms, applications, and networks

  • Experience leading an agile organization, embedding architectural designs, design thinking and co- delivering new digital customer experiences and channels

  • Experience in a federated structure with matrixed leadership responsibilities.

  • Expertise in modern technology trends such as cloud architectures, digital, AI/ML, Blockchain, Robotic Process Automation, Internet of Things, DevOps, etc.

  • Hands on strategic experience working with business leaders to proactively identify innovative technology solutions that meet business imperatives and provide a competitive advantage

  • Proven track record of strong leadership within a highly matrixed organization; must be comfortable leading through influence as well as leading a global team of technology professionals

  • P&L leadership experience

  • Demonstrated experience driving digital transformation and business growth through innovation and the implementation of technology.

  • Solid knowledge in emerging technologies, and the ability to apply these in the service of the company’s key business goals.

  • Experience leading complex, major change initiatives; demonstrated skills in change management.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset; able and interested to pursue new business opportunities.

     

Education / Professional Certifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive and relevant leadership practice
